LEARN ALL THINGS LETTERING & ART.

If you can’t make the allocated date of the Webinar, don’t stress as it will be recorded and added here for you to view in your own time.

Our first Academy Webinar was on the 15th of January where students got to e-meet some of the other students as well as your teacher Alena.

In this Webinar a few questions were answered which were requested by the students such as:
â€Ē difference between paper?
â€Ē paper position when lettering?
â€Ē should we use small pens before big pens or vice versa?

In this Webinar we spoke about the ‘bouncy’ lettering. As a group we lettered some names in the bouncy style as well as practiced “Happy Easter” in a few different way.

Join Niki Lawrence (ZenTangle Artist) in a relaxing and meditative ZenTangle Workshop.

She will take you through a step-by-step process of how to embed the ZenTangle Tangles into a letter of your choice.

What you will need:
â€Ē Piece of paper
â€Ē Pencil & Eraser
â€Ē Black felt tip marker

Due to not being well, the April tutorial was cancelled and instead turned into a mini tutorial just in time for Mother’s Day.

You will need:
â€Ē Piece of paper
â€Ē Pencil & Eraser
â€Ē Brush Marker
â€Ē Window or Light pad

Follow the video step by step.

1. Draw a rough grid made up of shapes. These shapes can be anything you want them to be, and they don’t have to be straight either.
2. Sketch out your words into those shapes.
3. Once you are happy with the layout, go over the words with your brush marker.
4. Have a look at the drawing and see if you can fill in more space by maybe extending the strokes or adding more flourishes.
5. Put a new piece of paper over the top and use either the window or a light pad to draw over your sketch with your brush marker to complete your lettering artwork.

If you get stuck, please let me know and I am more than happy to help you out 🙂

In this tutorial, I (Alena) shows how to letter June, July & August using both brush lettering & print lettering. I show how to add flourishes to those words as well as how to work out where to position print lettering “hello” or “hey”. Pause the video as much as you need to and once you have done each of those compositions, upload a photo of your work into the Creative Club. Look forward to seeing your creations!
